Before using Skype for Business for calls and video calls, it is a good idea to adjust your speakers, video camera and microphone.
Adjusting speakers and microphone
- Click the drop-down arrow by the cogwheel icon at the top of Skype for Business, pick Tools and then click Audio Device Settings.
- Select the device you want to use for audio calls and then set the volume level
- Please note, that the volume of your operating system influences the volume in Skype for Business, so please check this setting as well
- Click the green play icon to hear a test sound and use the slider to adjust the volume
- Then speak into your microphone and use the slider to adjust the volume
- Finally adjust the volume of the ringer by using the slider. Hear a sound test by clicking the green play icon
- Click OK to save settings
Adjusting your camera
- Click the drop-down arrow by the cogwheel icon at the top of Skype for Business, pick Tools and then click Video Device Settings
- Select the camera you want to use for video calls
- Press Camera settings to adjust lighting and colour
- Click OK to save settings
It is always a good idea to test your settings. So find a nice colleague and make a test video call to fine-tune your settings.
